Water for Sustainable Development Solutions

Cansu Global

Cansu Global is a nascent Inter-Governmental Organization (IGO) which responds to the call for accelerated implementation of the goals of the Water for Sustainable Development Action Decade. Its core philosophy is that only when applying a water lens to the global development challenges of our time, will we be able to overcome them.

Cansu Global started as a programme of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT). In the Outcome Document of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11 February 2022), 53 UN member states, along with the African Union and the European Union, endorsed Cansu Global and its sustainable development agenda.

The Republic of Tajikistan is the Lead Country for the official formation of Cansu Global as an IGO.

On March 1st, 2023, Tajikistan hosted a briefing for member states, to introduce Cansu Global and call for countries’ endorsement of charter and Strategic Framework.
