HRH Prince Mohammad bin King Faisal (I) El-Hashemite

HRH Prince Mohammad is a prominent International figure, a philosopher and scholar who has enriched the Arab and international library with dozens of books, hundreds of articles, research and studies that are still a beacon of knowledge, wisdom and the right approach in management, renaissance and sustainable development.

Prince Mohammad, born on 14th July 1930 is the second son of the King Faisal (I) bin El-Sharif Hussein of Syria and Iraq. He is a member of the Hashemite dynasty and a direct descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Prince Mohammad triumphed above the extreme turbulent life, the assassinations and the 1958 savage murder-massacre of his family by converting politics into dedication for the development of education and turning government's mishaps into lessons and road maps for building success. He idolized constructive words of the world's greatest intellectuals and embraced history as the lens into the future. He saw a learning experience in every affair, disaster, event, issue, matter, problem or subject, because life itself as he defined it in his writings is built from positives and negatives.

Prince Mohammad equated Education with the Air and Water every living thing needs to survive. He pioneered global systems to make education accessible to everyone and to his credit millions around the world have benefited from such systems and programmes.

In 1968, he founded and for 50 years lead the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (R.A.S.I.T) as a neutral, non-governmental international organization, to serve and nurture the underprivileged, foster the highly talented and deliver education to whomever, wherever. Prince Mohammad was known for his persistence to the principles of his ancestors. He devoted his life to fostering talent, education, scientific research, sustainable social and economic development, advocacy for and delivering assistance to whomever is in need. He is credited for developing general and higher education as well as research institutes in many of the Arab and developing countries.

As a strong believer Prince Mohammad supported the United Nations’ mission and initiatives and worked closely with its agencies to establish and advance frameworks for early learning and equal access to schooling, academia development, progressive educational systems, ethical research management and many social-economic development programmes. Furthermore, he is the architect of governing laws and accountability systems for civil society and professional associations. His model workshops generated and advanced international cooperation between many developing and developed countries through knowledge transfer, scholarship systems, scientific exchange and cultural relations. Resolute to the rules of Islam on human and women’s rights, Prince Mohammad always contributed to the establishment of women associations everywhere, especially in the underdeveloped world, and recognized those associations as the stepping stones for equal and just educational opportunities and creation of dedicated platforms for women socio-economic development and leadership.

In 1982, Prince Mohammad established the R.A.S.I.T Sustainable Development Studies Center aimed to enforce ethical practices, invoke focused dialogues, and encourage and fund cross-boarders research on common global issues such as agriculture, education and health. As a historian. Prince Mohammad believed that no society or social developments can be built on science alone. In his teachings, he always stated that arts and cultures are the reasons behind creation of science…, and cultures and arts must be protected in order to preserve integrity of scientific achievements, maintain peace and prosperity. As a result, in 1976, out of deep concerns for loss of cultures and arts in the midst of rapid global changes, Prince Mohammad called for the establishment of the Council for Cultures & Arts, a body of dual functionality, a movement to encourage and support actions, and a body to document and protect arts and cultures of Arab Nations and colonized countries. A few years later, the Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation adopted Prince Mohammad’s calls and acts to create the ALESCO (Arab League Education Scientific and Cultural Organisation) and the ISESCO (Islamic Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

Prince Mohammad received his education in Egypt and United States of America. He has a PhD in Management and International Relations. Prince Mohammed is married to HRH El-Sharifah Fatima El-Hashemite and has three sons, Prince Professor Adel, Prince Professor Adnan and Prince Professor Ahmad: and one daughter Princess Dr. Nisreen. On Friday the 19th of October 2018, Prince Mohammad,

The Human, passed away to join the greats of our history, leaving to the WORLD a legacy of profound devotion and love to service of GOD, faith, family and humanity His unique vision, philosophy, and timeless protocols will forever inspire.

You are always remembered and missed.
